Story Summary
Aurora is an up-and-coming graduate of Juilliard that runs into trouble while on stage. She had an admirer that wouldn’t take no for an answer and was stalking her. When a gun went off in the crowd of her college’s last performance, her family pulls her out of her life and throws her into the arms of a grumpy, much older bodyguard. Oliver was all about the job and he is no nonsense when it comes to the rules. Aurora is about to graduate and was in her mid-twenties. She just wanted to have fun and fought him every chance she could. She didn’t see the danger as real and just wanted to have a normal life.
Oliver tries to deny the attraction to the bubbly, young new client. He can see that she is actively trying to seduce him, but she is off limits, and he does everything he can to keep his distance. When she is almost abducted while in another’s care, Oliver knows that it is all up to him to keep her safe. He has to be her protector and takes her far up north in New York to keep her safe. There in that cabin alone, the two of them fall for each other and one thing leads to another, complicating both of their lives.
Her father finds out about their new romance and splits them up. Oliver finds out that her father is working with Aurora’s ex and exposes them and their plan to control her life. Aurora gets hurt in the middle of it and hits her head, getting amnesia and not remembering much from her current life. Oliver has to kiss her and remind her who he is. She remembers, finds out the truth of her dad’s intentions and runs off with Oliver. He keeps her safe, marries her and eventually brings the family all back together.
